The Rise of the Villains -The Young and the Restless

Image
Dear readers, did you know that Disney World is about to add a new land focused solely on  villains ? Yes, you heard me right. A land celebrating the delicious evil of Cruella de Vil, Ursula and Jafar. A place where Captain Hook and Gaston can frolic freely. We love to hate villains in our stories, without them, there is no conflict, and nothing for our heroes to conquer. Villains make the story more interesting.  So, I applaud the Young and the Restless teaming up Ian Ward and Aunt Jordan. Colleen Zenk and Ray Wise are solid golf together. Not one deranged psycho, but two are now roaming around town in various wigs and disguises wreaking havoc on the citizens of Genoa City. They have joined forces to torment their enemies and so far, they are succeeding. Someone tampered with Sharon’s meds and laced them with PCP, and someone ran Phyllis off the road. We don’t know yet which villain did which crime, but we know that they have each vowed to help the other one get revenge on th...
Baby, it's just you and me. - Tamilu   GH Commentary 11.01.2024 Dear readers, Sam McCall is gone, and I have all sorts of real feelings about the death of a fictional character. It had to happen right after Dante proposed, and right after, they were so happy planning the future and sharing their celebratory news. Ugh. I'm sad for the loss of this character who has been so interwoven into many storylines. I'm mad at ABC for firing a beloved 20-year veteran of the show to save money and then, inexplicably, hiring a dozen unknown actors that we don't care about. I'm perturbed because Kelly Monaco hinted that her abrupt dismissal was retaliation against something. When she finally tells her side of the story, I will believe her.  But all that being said, the storyline this created and the power of the acting I have seen this week has been superb. When Alexis learned that her daughter was gone and wanted a blanket to warm her up, I started crying. I didn't stop until...
Rock you like a Hurricane - #GH #GeneralHospital Dear readers, if you wonder why I've been absent, it's because my husband and I were riders on the storm, one of the 10 million people in Florida ordered to evacuate for Hurricane Milton. I will talk about my experience for a bit, so if that doesn't interest you, and you just want to get straight to GH, skip over all of this. But I need to write about it; you are the audience I write for.  I lived in San Diego, California, for 25 years and would still be there if I were rich. I tell you with great confidence that I would take earthquakes over hurricanes any day. But alas. We moved to Florida at the end of 2019, and Covid hit. So sometimes it feels like we have been under a state of emergency of one sort or another since we left California.  Being evacuated from a hurricane is not a fun vacation. First, the weather says, "We are watching a little action over in the gulf." Okay, cool. People ignore this first warning ...

Loony Luna - B and B

Dear readers, I do not typically write about the Bold and the Beautiful, but this week I cannot stay silent. All these weeks and months we have watched the supposedly innocent and perfect Luna wander through life, we endured (and I do mean endure) weeks of her whining about her mom's mints causing her to go astray, sleeping with both R.J. and Zende, and convincing all of L.A. what a precious little bunny she is. And now she's a double, maybe triple murderer? I admit to you that B&B is my guilty pleasure. Sometimes it is just so over the top in camp and nonsense I laugh my way through it. It's easily the most incestuous soap, so Luna coming on to a guy she thought was her dad two seconds after learning he's not her dad doesn't surprise me, but it did shock me. Don Diamont is as handsome as any gy on TV, but when I was in my 20's if someone wanted me to kiss a dude in his 60's, I can't imagine the amount of money that could get me to do that. Because, ...
